New prime time BBC One drama series Last Tango In Halifax was filmed across the North West and in Yorkshire; and features key locations including Harrogate, Skipton, Hebden Bridge, Heptonstall, Huddersfield, Sowerby Bridge and the iconic Yorkshire Dales.

Shooting in these locations was facilitated by Creative England’s Film Friendly Partnership, which was signed in Yorkshire earlier this year by 19 separate councils. Click here to read more.

Last Tango in Halifax starts on Tuesday, November 20 at 9pm. The six-part romantic comedy by Red Production Company was created by Sally Wainwright and follows two widowers in their 70s who are reunited after 60 years when their grandchildren put them on Facebook.

Celia Dawson is played by Anne Reid, Alan Buttershaw by Derek Jacobi, Caroline by Sarah Lancashire and Gillian by Nicola Walker.

Location Manager Andy Morgan said: “Last Tango In Halifax was an ambitious shoot which filmed right across the North West and Yorkshire region.  Filming a modern romantic comedy involves all sorts of out-of-the-ordinary scenarios – the smooth running of the shoot could not have happened without the valued support and assistance local authorities.  Having Creative England’s Film Friendly Partnership in place really makes a difference.”
