Hull filmmaker Chris Hees scoops BAFTA Award

Chris Hees and Daisy Jacobs scoop BAFTA award and achieve Oscar nomination for Best Animated Short

Creative gave Hull-born producer Chris Hees a bursary to help him during his time at the  National Film and Television School (NFTS) where the pair produced and directed the animation.

Chris said, "When The Bigger Picture was chosen to screen at our graduation ceremony we were excited enough. To start the year with a BAFTA win and then to be in the running for an Oscar too, is all just incredible and totally surreal. I was a Creative England scholar throughout my time at the NFTS and the support was invaluable. It’s made a dream come true.”

Creative England will be continuing the bursary programme to help more aspiring filmmakers get access to one of the best film schools in the world. More info will be available soon so keep an eye on the site and the Creative England Twitter feed.
