We've joined forces with the Creative Industries Council to launch the second event in our Access to Finance series.
Held in Manchester on April 30th at The Landing in Media City, Salford, the event aims help creative entrepreneurs get the funding they need to turn their ideas into a commercial success.
The creative industry is worth £8.8 million pounds every hour to the UK economy. It is the fastest growing industry sector, and employs one in every 12 people across the country. Yet behind these figures lies an ongoing challenge for creative SMEs – to get the right finance at the right time to help them grow.
The series of free events give entrepreneurs the opportunity to meet with investors, Intellectual Property specialists, and industry experts, all on hand to help creative businesses navigate the complicated financial maze.
Speakers at the event include:
- Patrick Towell from Golant Media Ventures
- Luke Burns from investment banking firm, GP Bullhound
- Ian Tabbron from Arts Council England
- Tom Fiddian from Innovate UK
- Irene Graham from British Bankers Association
- David Hopkins from the Intellectual Property Office
Caroline Norbury, CEO of Creative England, commented: “We know there is a knowledge-gap among creative businesses who regularly struggle to know where and how to access finance.
"Information can be hard to find and extremely complicated to navigate. These events are designed to demystify the world of finance, and present all the options in a simple, uncomplicated way”.
