This summer Creative England has partnered again with Sky to produce another season of comedy shorts. Featuring a wealth of talent, including Sharon Horgan, Sheridan Smith, Joe Wilkinson, Morgana Robinson, and Andrew Flintoff, it promises to be a great summer of comedy! The shorts are available on demand from June 28, and will be broadcast in July.
David Earl & Joe Wilkinson’s Summer
A feel-good, silly and irreverent character comedy set in the Wild West, this comedic short follows two idiots living in the Wild West as they attempt to become the cowboys and heroes they were never destined to be and win the heart of the local saloon’s oddly distinctive prostitute.

Morgana Robinson’s Summer
It’s a hot day in Margate and heavily pregnant Trish gathers her friends and three sisters for her baby shower. As the heat rises during party games, so do tempers as a family secret is revealed.

Emma Sidi’s Summer
Old school friends Alex and Becca are 27 and while Alex is desperate to recreate the excitement of the debauched holidays of their teenage years, Becca isn’t so keen. Soon drink, drama and the strain of actually having to become adults takes its toll as they holiday in Ayia Napa.

A 40-year-old man (Freddie Flintoff) recalls his story of love lost in flashback, one summer, a few years previous, when he had an all to brief romantic encounter with a women dog walker (Alex Roach) while out walking his dog.

Jocelyn Jee Esien’s Summer
It's the day of the Notting Hill Carnival, Europe's biggest summer street party. Old friends Sharon and Rina have drifted apart over the years so decide spend a rare day together reliving one their favourite pastimes from their youth - going to the Carnival. The ladies are dropped off in the middle of nowhere to meet with some other ladies from a dance troupe also heading to the carnival - to make matters worse they’re wearing an elaborate homemade carnival costume which has them tethered together like conjoined twins.
As the hours pass by waiting for the troupe the friends fall out as old arguments rise to the surface.

Ahir Shah’s Summer
It's a summery day on August 15th 2017, the 70th anniversary of Indian Independence. Viraj and girlfriend Poppy head to his grandmother's house to meet his family (parents, brother and grandmother) for their annual celebrations. Poppy is anxious about meeting Viraj's grandmother Veda for the first time and Viraj is anxious about breaking the news that the young couple are moving to India for a new life. Tensions rise and a comedy of errors ensues as the family debate the pros and cons of Viraj and Poppy's big move.

Vicki Pepperdine & Ellie White’s Summer: Grey Dogs
